Pellet firing shotguns have been Indian forces' weapons of choice in Kashmir since 2010, maiming people and creating an epidemic blindness. According to a recent UN human rights report, between mid-2016 and the end of 2018, 1253 civilians were blinded by Indian forces firing shotgun pellets.
