This resolution decided that UNMOGIP would continue to supervise the ceasefire in Kashmir with a mandate to observe and report, investigate complaints of ceasefire violations and submit its finding to each party and to the Secretary-General.

Affirms that the convening of JK Constituent Assembly and any action that assembly might attempt to take to determine the future shape and affiliation of the entire State or any part thereof would not constitute a disposition of the State in accordance with the will of the people
Declares that it is the duty of UNSC to aid the parties to reach an amicable solution of the Kashmir dispute and that a prompt settlement is of vital importance to the maintenance of international peace and security
Instructs the UN Representative for Indian and Pakistan to effect the demilitarization of the Princely State
Calls upon GoI and GoP to:
